My mugs are built by slab.  Colored slips are layered onto a slab which is then cut, rolled, stretched and manipulated to create the patterns.  The handle is also covered with a thin slab of patterned colored clay.   The exterior surfaces are unglazed and the interiors are glazed with a clear cone 10.
