My larger works vary in technique.   Most of the larger works are thrown and manipulated when wet to make a more interesting organic shape.   Next I apply between 6 and 10 layers of colored slips and carve into them when leather hard to create a pattern and expose the layers of color.   Some of the pieces are thrown then have paper thin patterned colored clay applied to the surface.   Interior glaze colors are chosen to complement or contrast with the exterior.
